Israel Issues Evacuation Orders for Southern Lebanon Towns
In a statement shared on X, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee urged civilians in multiple Area—including Ghandoorieh, Borj Qalaouiyeh, Qalaouiyeh, Sawaneh, Jmeijmeh, Safad al-Battikh, Braachit, Shaqra, Aita al-Jabal, Tebnine, Sultaniyeh, Bir al-Sanasil, Dounine, Kherbet Selem, Selaa, and Deir Kifa—to leave their homes and move northward.
He said the directive was issued due to what he described as “violations of the ceasefire by Hezbollah.” Adraee added, “The army does not intend to harm you,” while urging residents to relocate toward the Sidon area for safety.
He also warned that civilians located near Hezbollah members, infrastructure, or military assets “would be at risk.”
Despite the truce, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have continued, with repeated reports of violations. According to earlier statements, US President Donald Trump had attempted to discourage further Israeli air operations in the country.
Trump initially announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon on April 17, later stating that it would be extended by an additional three weeks.
Prior to the ceasefire, Israel launched a large-scale offensive on March 2. Official figures indicate that at least 2,509 people were killed and 7,755 wounded, while more than 1.6 million residents were displaced during the escalation.
