Israeli Army Conducts Drone Strike on Vehicle in Southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) The Israeli military carried out a drone strike on Sunday targeting a vehicle in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, according to reports.

Lebanon’s state-run news agency said the vehicle, traveling between the towns of Barish and Maaroub in the Tyre district, was hit by an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). No additional details on casualties or damage were provided.

The attack comes amid repeated Israeli breaches of a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon reached in November 2024. Israel stated that it continues to target Hezbollah infrastructure.

These ceasefire violations have resulted in hundreds of Lebanese killed and wounded, while Israel maintains control over five Lebanese hilltops seized during the most recent conflict, along with other territories it has held for decades.

Israel launched military operations against Lebanon in October 2023, which escalated into a full-scale war in September 2024, leaving more than 4,000 dead and 17,000 wounded.
