Two Killed in Israeli Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon
A state news agency reported that an Israeli drone hit a car on the Zahrani-Msayleh road in the Zahrani district, resulting in one fatality.
In a second incident, another Israeli drone targeted a vehicle on the Bazouriyeh–Burj al-Shimali road in the Tyre district, claiming the life of another civilian, according to the Health Ministry.
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee asserted on the US social media company X that the strikes “targeted two Hezbollah operatives in the Sidon area and in Burj al-Shimali.”
There was no immediate reaction from Hezbollah or the Lebanese government regarding the attacks.
Israel’s repeated ceasefire violations have previously killed and wounded hundreds of Lebanese, while the country continues to occupy five hilltops seized during the latest conflict, in addition to territories held for decades.
Military operations against Lebanon began in October 2023 and intensified into a full-scale war in September 2024, resulting in more than 4,000 deaths and approximately 17,000 injuries.
Beyond Lebanon, Israel maintains control over parts of Syria and Palestine, rejecting both withdrawal and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
