Israel Carries Out Drone Attack on Southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) An Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle struck a civilian car in southern Lebanon on Sunday, according to reports from Lebanese state media.

A Lebanese news service, confirmed that the attack targeted a vehicle moving between Barish and Maaroub in Tyre district. The drone strike occurred in the southern city of Tyre, Lebanese media outlets reported.

Authorities have not yet disclosed information about potential casualties or the extent of damage from the attack.

Sunday's strike marks another breach of the ceasefire agreement brokered between Israel and Lebanon in November 2024. Israeli officials have maintained that their military continues operations against Hezbollah targets and infrastructure despite the truce.

The ceasefire has been repeatedly violated, resulting in hundreds of Lebanese civilians killed and injured. Israeli forces currently maintain control over five hilltop positions captured during recent hostilities, alongside other Lebanese territories occupied for decades.

Military confrontations between Israel and Lebanon erupted in October 2023 before intensifying into comprehensive warfare by September 2024. The conflict has claimed over 4,000 lives and left approximately 17,000 people wounded.
